1 storyform, but still given options

Postby Nigell123 » Jan 26, 2011 7:49 am

Hi,

I'm quickly filling in the Quick Story part of Dramatica, and got the end of the 12 questions, leaving one storyform.

But MC personal resolution is allowed to be either Good or Bad, and yet all the other 11 choices I main remain the same. How can I have a free choice of this at this stage, shouldn't it all be locked in?

Best - Nigel

I guess my question to you is, which twelve questions did you answer that left the Story Judgment unchosen? That is usually one of the twelve questions, but not always depending on the topic path and storyforming choices you made.

It is easy to have that choice available toward the end of many choices. However, if you are down to one storyform, I do not see how it is available to choose.

Would you mind being a little more specific with your question? Any contextual information you can provide would be appreciated and would help me in understanding your question better.

I think I might be confused, as my answer would be that I chose all the other 11 answers in Quick Story, other than the Story Judgement.

Storyform at the bottom says there are two storyforms. But looking at the story judgement there are two choices. I can click either one. Checking the story engine all the other options are identical, apart from the story judgement choice.

I hope this is clear.

Those are two separate story forms. Right? One story form, although identical in every other way, has a judgement of good and the other bad. I have one that I want to tell a story within a story. So, what seemed like a revolution to me, I realized that of course the overall story is the same (they are in the same world ) In the secondary story I switch the MC and IC or they trade roles. When I change the story outcome in the main story a couple of things change ( I think it is the MC critical flaw and his unique ability) but in the secondary story with the roles reversed nothing changes when I change the story outcome.

If I understand you correctly, it sounds like it is working just fine.

Since the Outcome is tied to the Overall Story throughline, and not the MC or IC throughlines specifically, then it makes sense that swapping the MC and IC roles would not affect the Story Outcome in the Overall Story throughline.
