Win/Mac Dramatica Pro

Postby UTAtheatreguy » Jan 20, 2011 2:41 pm

Why is Dramatica Pro sold for mac and windows separately?

And yet at the screenplay store, it's sold for Mac and Windows separately. Screenwriter works on both, why not DramPro?

Probably because Dramatica Pro has not been updated in several years, to which Chris admits that the update is long overdue and is in development.

This thread viewtopic.php?f=22&t=163 may answer your question.

It's quite possible that there may be an answer in there that I'm simply not understanding. But that thread tells me why Screenplay.com/Write Bros. are slow to update their high-end software. It doesn't tell me why they're basically price-gouging by not offering the sale for a dual-platform download when not only have they already set the precedent of Dual-platform download (with MM6) but they have have it available in box form to download on either computer.

What gives, guys? You don't see me complaining about the price of Dram-Pro 4 or the fact that it's been a while since an update (since I don't really feel like shelling out hundreds of dollars MORE) but for the screenplay store not to offer it so that I can put it on my mac AND my PC...does kinda seem like a slap in the face.

The short answer is that they Mac and Windows versions use different serial numbers and license management, so they are sold separately as DOWNLOADS. The box versions include both versions of the software.

If you have a properly registered version of Dramatica Pro for one platform and wish to get a download of it for the other platform, please contact Customer Service at Write Brothers Inc. by going to the following link and requesting a copy for the other platform:

http://support.screenplay.com/contact/cs/email/emailcs.php

Normally, download links and serial numbers for registered users of 4.0 or 4.1 are free.
