Confused About the Output of Dramatica Pro for Novel Writers

Postby lambanlaa » Nov 23, 2010 7:00 am

Hello,

After some usage of Dramatica Pro 4.1 for the Mac, I am a little confused.

My goal is to write a romance novel (potentially, the start of a series). I have used the Dramatica short interview to elicit details about my story. I have also modeled The Tortoise and the Hare and gotten down to one story form.

My question is: What Dramatica Pro output (reports?) would a writer use to create a novel once they have gone through all the analysis?

I've searched this forum and listened to some podcasts, but the answer is not apparent.

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

The most useful aspect is probably something you have not done yet, and that is to create chapters. Then you may print the treatment report which gives you a step outline of your story.

I also recommend using the Novel Template to start with. It has prebuilt chapters that get you started. These chapters can be modified, rearranged, deleted, or added to in order to fit your story.

You may find some of the advanced reports useful, but I think the best thing to do is to look at each one and determine what works best for your writing style.
