Indian tribe name

Postby Kemper » Oct 03, 2010 4:11 pm

In my story the indian tribe I am using is fictional but based on a certain tribe. I'd like to not use them to maintain my own creative license. Interestingly I'm have trouble thinking of a name or how this should be treated.

EXT. ******** Village-Evening

Should I make one up...or just say Indian Village?

Thanks.! Glad to be here.

Making one up makes it more specific and lets you get more specific about other aspects of the tribal life and customs. Just saying "Indian tribe" sounds generic and uncreative, IMO.

Try taking parts of different tribe names and putting them together until you find one you like, such as Black Eagle Nation, Pawnaha Nation, Chippahawk Nation, etc.

If it ever gets bought, the name will change anyway, so don't worry about it.

Thanks, I've been calling it LENAPE VILLAGE, which it is based on. But it is such a small offshoot village That is an off shoot of the Moravians, (what am I thinking?) :D that It makes it tough. 87 pages in and I'm still stumped. I appreciate the help. I know there are Different clans, like Turtle and wolf. I think I have a name...Naxuha which means he alone. It may change but at least it isn't to generic.
