StoryView ?

Postby KatYares » Aug 21, 2008 7:05 am

Is this program still alive and kicking?

I have version 1 but was thinking of upping to Version 2, but I can't find an upgrade price - nor can I find the program at all at other writing stores (Writers Store, Storymind, etc).

Thanks

Kat

StoryView is in version 2 and the upgrade price is $99.95. It's in a strange place right now. We still sell it, as do a couple of other venues, but we're considering renaming it to something a little more descriptive to make it easier to market.

Version 2 lets you outline in the traditional outlining style, which is a tremendous addition to the program. There are other bells and whistles, but that is THE major one.

Chris,

there are some additional unintended benefits for some of us as well...

I'm in the military and actually it helps with planning and analyzing.

Hi - I'm new here so be kind! :)

This has probably been asked before, but will a Mac version of StoryView - or whatever it will become, be available in the future. After much demo'ing and research of various screenwriting apps I went for Screenwriter 6 - its very slick on a Mac. Good job!

If The WriteBros are considering upgrading StoryView 2.0 or indeed redesigning the software and remarketing it then you could change the name to "Movie Magic Outliner".. The company can still market it with 2 views, the regular text view outline and the graphic view timeline..

Hello

I have just installed Dramitca Pro on my PC.

Would StoryView compliment it or be redundant?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave --

StoryView (soon to be renamed Outline 4D) is complementary to Dramatica Pro. StoryView is an outliner that has a Timeline view and element tracking. Unlike Dramatica, it is not related to any particular story paradigm. In fact, it can be used to outline ANY type of project.

Where the heck is outline 4D? I see videos about it on the net but I can't seem to find it to purchase it anywhere? And what is the difference between Outline 4D and StoryView? I love StoryView. :)

It is currently available at Amazon.com and will be available on Screenplay.com (and at other resellers) starting March 1, 2010. The program is essentially the same, re-branded under a new name and look. The only difference in the software is the ability to import Screenwriter 6 files directly.

I read on the Done Deal board that the upgrade price for 4D will be $9.95 for owners of Storyview. Is this true and if so, is that the price for Storyview version 1 owners?

If so, I'll be the first to upgrade.

Thanks

As of Monday, March 1, StoryView users may get a downloadable upgrade to Outline 4D if they want. If you already have StoryView 2.0, there is not much reason to upgrade, IMO. Here are the upgrade prices:

    - From StoryView 2.0 to Outline 4D 2.0:

    - From StoryView 1.0 to Outline 4D 2.0: $39.95

All upgrades must be done by phone at this time. Our toll free number is 800-84-STORY. Our international number is +1 818 843 6557. Press 1 for customer service and sales.

Do I understand right that the 4D upgrade is FREE for Storyview 2.0 users? *Blink*

As for the spam, PLEASE do something about this!

I will even help yew! The answer to your spam problem is here:

Hi Thomas --

We've just upgraded the site (again). If that doesn't get rid of the spam, we'll try your AntiBotQuestion.zip protocol. Thank you for supplying it to us.

Does the Outline 3D/MM v6 combo offers better import/export integration than the StoryView v2/MM 2000 combo? Because that (for me) would be a good reason to upgrade.
