Hi all. I am a writer based in Venice, who is vaguely familiar with Dramatica -- I have used it in a dedicated fashion for 3 weeks, and am looking for that human touch to take my knowledge to the next level. If you are interested, please let me know your level of experience, whether or not you'd be willing to commute to Venice -- depending on the circumstances I would be willing to come to you -- and how much you think a fair price for your services would be...
Thanks!

Re: ATTENTION LA BASED DRAMATICA MAVENS -- LOOKING FOR TUTOR
Hi PB,
I'm learning the theory, too. Unfortunately, I'm not down in CA. The Dramatica Users Group podcasts have been very helpful in my understanding many of the theory nuances. They are free and I download them to my Ipod from the Itunes store. They are also available here: http://www.dramatica.com/podcasts/index.htm, along with storyform reports in .pdf format.
This is a good place to get clarification, but I wish Chris would pop in a bit more (hint, hint).

Re: ATTENTION LA BASED DRAMATICA MAVENS -- LOOKING FOR TUTOR
Thanks -- Will download... My problem seems to be that I'm reading some article about theory/application, be it Armando's or Chris/Melanie's and there will be something in there I don't know, so I open another tab so I can research some other concept, and in THAT article there's something ELSE I don't know... you see where this is going...
Re: ATTENTION LA BASED DRAMATICA MAVENS -- LOOKING FOR TUTOR
I know exactly what you mean! I've always considered myself relatively bright, but this theory is really dense and layered. There is an article here about the Dramatica "Aha" moment... which I am still waiting to experience. I'm finding that as I understand bits and pieces, I'm seeing lots of applications in other areas in addition to writing. I used to do conflict resolution consulting work in organizations and have seen lots of dramas play out a la Dramatica.
I'd like to take the Dramatica weekend course, but I don't know when the next one is. I sent an email asking but haven't gotten a response yet. (...HINT, HINT!! )

nice hopeful smiley

I find the best way to learn this program is to just keep using it. As I work on my plots and themes, etc. as questions pop up I tackle them one at a time, I gave up months ago on trying to learn the 'whole' program at once, its too complex and nuanced.
