Build characters not placing them where I expect

Postby phillybudd » Jan 26, 2010 10:49 am

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, so please excuse if I'm not asking this in the right place.

I am now on the "Build Characters" screen in Dramatica. But when I click on my main character and try to assign him the Protagonist archetype, his icons are not showing up where I expect them, based on my understanding of the archetypes.

For example, when I click on Purpose, I'm expecting to see him assigned the Knowledge and Ability traits, but it has assigned him to Knowledge and Actuality, both in the same quad. Is this based on how I answered earlier questions about him, or is there some sort of bug in the works here?

This is true for Purpose, Evaluation, Motivation and Methodology. He is placed side-by-side in the upper-left quad.

Ah.. I think I just answered my own question. When I clear the story engine he goes back to being where I was expecting...

Here is a Dramatica tip about the arrangement of the character elements and why they change:
