The Basics
The Dramatica Writers Group in San Francisco group meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday at 7 p.m. each month at Border's Books & Music located in Union Square. During each meeting I present a lecture on Dramatica Theory from the book Dramatica: A New Theory of Story, followed by an application of that theory to a movie or popular short story. After the initial presentation, an open discussion of the material is encouraged and questions about how to use the software will be answered.
The Mission
To form a community of Dramatica users in the San Francisco Bay Area who will meet on a regular basis to discuss, explore, and learn Dramatica Theory from and with each other as a community, and then apply the Dramatica skills gained therein to their own creative writing projects.
My Credentials
I own and use the programs Dramatica, Outline 4D (StoryView 2.0), Movie Magic Screenwriter, and the books Dramatica: A New Theory of Story & Dramatica For Screenwriters for my professional writing projects. I believe that the best way to learn any subject is to not only use it, but to teach it, so I am forming this community with the intent of learning Dramatica from and with each other as a community.
The Cost
There is no charge to attend our meetings at Border's Books in Union Square.
