Character building

Can someone explain the relationship between the character characteristics and the story engine? There are two MC and IC critical characteristics in the Purpose dimension and I'm unclear as to how they are assigned.

Thanks

Elements are part of the Dramatica structural model. When you use the Story Engine (or any other storyforming tool) to make storyforming choices, your choices of Main Character and Overall Story domains identifies which arrangement of elements are assigned to which domain.

Here are a couple of Dramatic tips that cover these questions:

The Sity-Four element Question:

Questions about the Crucial Element:

Character Archetypes and Crucial Elements:

This should cover the basics.
