How to delete a scene in WDK 4.0 in the "Query System"?

Postby adambein » Sep 15, 2015 3:35 pm

Zombies have taken over the 'Queen Mary!

I am responsible for creating 50 scenes in Writer's Dream Kit 4.0 but scene 29 needs to be deleted. Not only that, scene's 30-49 -they're going to all need to automatically drop down a spot number once scene 29 leaves.

How does one select 'Scene #29" and delete it?

OH. NO. Now I've got a scene #30 now! Ugh! <facepalm>

Hurry! Zombies are taking over the Queen Mary and there's simply no time to be messing around with scene number issues! This has now turned into a zombie AND scene...crisis!

Heellp!

lol

In the Scene Creation topic list, go to the Scene List topic -- this is the topic that lists ALL of the scenes in order. Click on the scene you wish to remove to select it, and click on the DELETE button at the bottom of the window (below the list of scenes).

The scenes following the deleted scene renumber automatically.

To the right of the navigation buttons at the bottom of the window are the scene function buttons:

It is in Scene List topic of both the Storyweaving section of the StoryGuide, and the Scene Creation topic list.

I don't have that delete button like you do! O.O ! !

Ty for that screenshot. My screen only has two buttons! I have no 'delete' button. Either someone's absconded with my delete button or it's been...deleted! O.O

Strange. Did you try looking at it in both the StoryGuide topic list AND the Scene Creation topic list? If it is still missing, I suggest redownloading and reinstalling the software from our support site:

Thx. <checks> Yup, I have no 'delete' button under either. Interesting. Time to look into the proper way of uninstalling then reinstalling. <wonders if I need some sort of code or proof or something> I'll look into it. Tyvm!

Delete button showing when I began a new story.

Postby adambein » Sep 24, 2015 8:43 am

Before I tried the uninstall/re-install intervention, I thought I'd start a new story to see if that would have any effect. I started a new story and lo' & behold, the delete button appeared. O.O Here's a screen shot:

Did you go back to your earlier document and was the delete button there?
