While listening to the Users Group podcast about "The Descendants", I found some of my interpretations differed from Chris'. George Clooney as a MC had a good example as a Be-er at the beginning when the daughter was called to task for mocking her classmate. Rather than externalize the conflict to the classmate, the MC nudges his daughter to change her own behavior. When troubled later on, he decides to jog while internally thinking what he should do. He internally debates whether confronting the adultery partner is the best thing to do. Also, Alex (the daughter) was such a Doer, she was just acting out for the sake of it.
My other quick question: I heard Chris made his 2013 schedule. Is this posted anywhere?

Or is he a do-er who is out of his element in this story and has become an introspective do-er. His natural state is doing. That may be why he is in this mess. He was too busy doing he didn't take the time to BE a good father and BE a good husband.
When anyone talked about his wife they described who she was not what she did.

As the book says, being a "Doer" does *not* mean that the character does not also work out things internally, just that his or her preferred method is to work out things externally. The opposite also applies.
My MC in the novel I'm working on is a Doer, but there are many passages where he is contemplating things internally -- although usually his internal workings have to do with what he has to "do" to fix things.

I just posted the 2013 DUG schedule in this forum. Thank you for the unintended hint. I hadn't thought to post it here (doh!).
