Drivers and Journeys Being the Same in OS?

Postby Geoff1975 » Oct 22, 2012 8:13 pm

At first glance, the fact that the Storyguide included within Dramatica Story Expert includes both OS Drivers and Journeys made me think they're separate. You'd come up with two different events.... and I made sure to catch whether the driver came before the journey or signpost. Now as I diagram 3-act and 4-act structures, it seems the journeys actually take up a lot of what I'd understand to be the Driver. By Driver, I mean both the action and decision... the whole turning event.

So, I'm guessing in a 3-Act method with large journeys and small signposts... you'd see Drivers taking up a lot of screen time. In a 4-Act method, each Driver is just a singular, linear event between huge signposts.

Correct.

If you focus on Journeys, the Signposts look like...signposts -- points of delineation (like city limits) that you pass while traveling along the Journeys.

If you focus on the Signposts, the Journeys look more like transitions or swivel joints between signpost segments.
