DP4 - Preferences > Gender Options

Postby stephenbuck415 » Jul 12, 2011 1:19 pm

The Gender Options reads "Pronouns in examples."

Am I correct to assume that means the examples provided within the StoryGuide (Definition/Context buttons)?

Does this setting affect the Reports?

Thanks

I would like to add one additional question to this thread, but for the Character Options located directly beneath Gender Options.

Characteristic Notes have the option to be Replaced or Appended. Does that apply to the Characters > Build Characters > [select a character in the grid] > Characteristic Notes area? If so, I don't understand how one option makes the difference over another because of the way text is entered in the field... I can enter that area, type new text, close the windows, open the windows to that area back up, and then simply cut, insert, and edit, so I don't see where Replace and Append apply.

No so much in reports because those generally refer to specific characters, each of which has a gender setting.

The Characteristic Notes appear in the Build Characters window. If you export a character using the Character > Export... command, all characteristics (and any notes associated with them) are exported. When you import that character, this setting controls whether the characteristic notes are added to any existing notes for those elements in Build Characters, or replaces those notes.
