Dramatica email list

Postby KatYares » Feb 06, 2011 2:51 pm

Is it down? I haven't received anything from the list since Christmas Day and I miss it.

Kat

PS Why do the words Unpublished Writer appear under my picture??? I've had stories published for the last 30 years or so...now I'm off in movie making land...

It does appear to be down. Certainly a mystery and indeed missed. One would expect some type of explanation, unless, perhaps, national security is at risk.

The host of the Dramatica list, Bill Schindler, said that the list is down for technical reasons and he is aware of it, but does not have an E.T.A. for its revival.

I figured we could give it until early March to get it back up, but if that doesn't happen we can set up some sort of alternate platform. One suggestion was to use Yahoo Groups. I'm not that familiar with Yahoo Groups, so I do not know if it would adequately replace the listserv.

Any thoughts?

Chris, I have set up several Yahoo ML groups for various interests, and would be happy to do this when the time comes.

Yahoo groups are easy to manage and so much better than Google groups. Isn't the Dramatica Projects group still up and running on Yahoo?

Kat, I did join that group but never get any mail from it. I think it's defunct...

It's still there ... been a couple of posts to it in the last few weeks (about the missing listserv).

Hey there Dramatica fans,

There's a new service -- Convore -- that started up this week that might be an interesting replacement for the Dramatica mail list. It's kind of a cross between a forum and chat and is both attractive and functional. There's already a Dramatica Theory Group set up here:

http://convore.com/dramatica-story-theory

You'll have to sign up for the service and then join the group. It may not be perfectly suited for long drawn-out questions or posts, but perhaps thats a good thing when it comes to Dramatica...

it's now simply:
