Examples of Comedic Fixed Attitude
Examples of Comedic Fixed Attitude
The guide enclosed with Dramatica lays out a nice way of regarding genre. My story is a comedy, so I'm experimenting with how to make all four throughlines be characterized in a comedic way. Situation is in the form of a sitcom (i.e. being stuck in a worldly situation being funny). Physical comedy is pretty easy. What about Fixed Attitude/Mind comedy? Can anyone think of examples of this, particularly in widely released movies?

How about Dan Ackroyd's character in Dragnet? Or Steve Martin's in Planes, Trains and Automobiles? Or Dan Ackroyd's in Trading Places? Or Bill Murray in Groundhog's Day?
I'm still new to the theory, but I think each of these characters represent a fixed attitude.

Re: Examples of Comedic Fixed Attitude
Thanks for that list, Chris. That is a useful link.
My IC is a steadfast character in Fixed Attitude. The comedic side of Ben Kenobi? Actually, Tootsie might be worth checking out again.
