We Are Alike Moments

Postby Geoff1975 » Sep 22, 2012 1:12 pm

In Pretty Woman, there's a balcony scene nicely in the exact middle of Act Two. Edward says, "I'm only halfway out." He also points out that he and Vivian both screw people for money. She maintains her rule not to kiss on the lips ("it's too personal"). What other "We are alike" moments have people found? Which have worked better than others?

My story has one character enamored with another. The moment when he discovers she's more than what he saw on the surface would be the perfect moment to make as one of these.

We have found dozens of them, many of which have been collected and put into a montage. Unfortunately, we are unable to post it for obvious copyright issues. Here are some of the films from which we've pulled "You and I" clips (in no particular order):

    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Under Siege
    Bullets Over Broadway
    In the Line of Fire
    9 1/2 Weeks
    Other People's Money
    The Net
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (John Travolta)
    Batman Forever
    Frost / Nixon
Star Trek: Nemesis (And many Voyager and ST:TNG episodes)
    The Aviator
    Batman Begins
    The Dark Knight
    Gladiator
    Pride & Prejudice (Kiera Knightly)
    Hitch
    End of Days
    Dodgeball
South Park: With Apologies to Jesse Jackson episode
In the Head of the Night
    The Devil Wears Prada
    The Courtship of Eddie's Father
    Dune (TV Mini-Series)
    American Dreamz
    Angels in America
    Swordfish
    Quantum of Solace
    Doubt
    K-Pax
    District 9

And many more...

Thanks for taking the time to type these. Regardless of copyright issues, anyone can watch them and spot the moments right away.

Just thought of a couple more:

X-Men: First Class (toward the end)
The Master
