First of all: Sorry for my poor english:
I read a lot about dramatica theory and I am planning an all age story (novel) using some points of it.
In the story the love interest of the main character/protagonist (in one character) is the impact character, too. She is very emotional and sensitive and often uncertain but hides this behind a wall of logic and short-tempered aggressiveness. So she takes the role of "reason" but with the short-tempered attribute of "emotion"). Normaly i would need to have the counterpart "calm but emotional".
That would fit best to the main/prot, but i am not sure if it is ok to let the prot take this role or if i am in need to construct one more character to have a good dramatic constellation (i would prefer not to do so). (There are also sidekick, skeptic, guardian, antagonist and contagonist atm).

I believe one way would be to depart from the character archetypes and make complex characters. You could make your IC Feeling and Control (calm) in her role in the OS.

It is also possible that she may be exploring those emotional issues in the Impact Character throughline. For example, she might have an IC Symptom of Feeling (what she thinks causing trouble for her) and her IC Response would be Logic.
