I have a character who's impact character is constantly pushing for him to appeal to the supernatural to solve his personal dilemma. In Act 1 he develops a plan to get everyone in his church to work together to help those less fortunate. He figures doctors, businessmen, etc, can donate their expertise and time to help heal and counsel those sick in the church. In Act 4 he conceives of a need for a unifying factor in the church that is spiritual. Suddenly, he realizes his plan in Act 1 for people to bond together to help the less fortunate will solve that need, but he also realizes impact character is correct. So where he originally, in Act 1, saw everyone pitching together to help the sick and needy in the church by using their professions, now he realizes it's not their professions that need to be unified, but their spiritual gifts. So his original plan for people to bond together and help each other with doctor visits, cash, counselling, all of a sudden transforms into a spiritual thing -- so the sick are healed by peoples supernatural gifts in church, healing by power of spirit, wisdom, miracles, etc. Now he embraces impact characters idea that it's the spiritual, not the physical, that will heal him and bring him strength.

Question is, should the original plan in Act 1 be clarified as supernatural gifts working together? Or can I just sketch it out as a plan where he sees people pitching in their professional talents, counsellors, doctors, moneymakers, etc, and then at end he realizes it wasn't their professional talents at all, but their supernatural gifts that were needed to help the less fortunate (which includes main character)?

So long as your Impact Character is developing a plan that influences or impacts the Main Character in some way, it really doesn't matter what type of plan it is -- supernatural or otherwise.

The Manipulation (aka Psychology) class involves overt, covert, or unintentional dysfunctional thinking. It can be an attribute of the IC, or attributed to the IC. This class is not so much about WHAT the IC thinks, but HOW that causes friction and conflict.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear. It's the Main Character who's manipulation and develops the plan. Impact character is Physics. The Main Character develops a plan in Act 1that people in the church should use their professions, such as doctors, nurses, businessmen, etc, to help the less fortunate in the church. But the Impact character tells him he should search for a supernatural fix for his and the church's problems. So in Act 4, he conceives the idea that a unifying factor is needed in the church. He remembers his previous plan of people using their professions to help the needy in the church, but realizes because of Impact character's influence on him that instead of people using their professions to help the needy they should develop supernatural gifts from the Spirit and help people by laying hands on them for prayer, doing miracles, etc.

So Main Character embraces the plan he developed in first act, but the plan is changed so that instead of people in the church helping each other by using their work and professional skills, now he believes they should use supernatural means to help each other -- like laying on hands and praying for the sick, turning the water into wine, multiplying the loaves and fishes, etc. But is it confusing for him to change the plan he made in Act 1 to fit his new supernatural leanings?

Sounds pretty good (and clear) to me.
