I have a hard time connecting Ability to comedy. When I think of it, all I can imagine is the Comedia de l'arte, stock characters in Italian comedy like Pulcinella (a groucho marx character type--or Hawkye Pierce in Mash), etc. There is some comedy, like with the guy who can eat tons of food and not get fat or sick, or the macho swordfighter, or the ability to slap down someone with sarcasm, or even the ability to toss your hat across the room and have it land neatly and squarely on the hatrack every time. Are these the types of ability dramatica talks about, or have I got it all wrong?

Those sound good to me.

Ability is not so much related to Comedy, as it is to the troubles in your story. You may choose to illustrate them humorously, but they need not be inherently humorous. Also, a LACK of ability (think 99lb weakling) fits Ability as well as too much.
