Does anybody know if the new Star Trek movie was written with the help of Dramatica? I'm pretty sure that it was! What do you think? :?:

I don't know if anybody used Dramatica, but it sure is a "Dramatica-lly" sound story.

Do you think JJ Abrams is a dramatica user? Could you spill it for us?

Maybe he wouldn't admit it. Lots of writers don't like to admit they follow a particular theory.

Has anyone noticed how the thematics of Lost tend to follow certain Dramatica quads? For example, the whole last season spent a great deal of time dealing with Fate-Prediction-Interdiction-Destiny. Every episode seems to have a well-defined MC, and a well-defined IC, and an OS as well. So whatever theory the Lost writing team is using, it's pretty compatible with Dramatica.

I'm just wondering, how does a full-time staff writer hide the fact the one is using dramatica software? I'm particularly interested in what is the tv-writing industry's stand on using dramatica? Does dramatica have a positive or negative image?

The only TV show I know for sure that used Dramatica actively during production was Dead Like Me. We get VERY FEW technical support calls for Dramatica, which is one of our main ways of finding out who is using what.

Industry-folk like using Dramatica, they just don't like to talk about it -- unfortunately for us.

BTW, a "J Abrams" in Beverly Hills is a client, but I have know idea who he or she is.

OMG! I absolutely LOVE that show!

Dead like me has that wry, black humour that actually works as a comedy, which (unfortunately) doesn't work (for me) in shows like 30 Rock, The office, Kit & Kat and all those really unfunny shows, IMHO.

I just found out that "Star Trek: Voyager" used Dramatica too. I don't know why I am the last to find out this information.
