REAR WINDOW AND QUADS
On page 62 of Dramatica, A new Theory of Story, which gives the Rear Window characters in the motivation set, I have been trying to understand the reasons and criteria behind placing the characters in their particular places in each quad. I have been comparing the Rear Window Motivational Quad with page 50, where the 16 characteristics have been listed. Couldn't the characteristics of the characters of Rear Window been placed in the same order as on page 50?
I am particularly interested in the fact that you can predict the principal conflicts by using the motivation set. - That would be a most useful tool! I am very new to Dramatica and find the concepts and theory certainly challenging, bringing clarity to the writing process.
Thank you.
