Auto Correct

Postby cmw7 » Jan 06, 2015 3:28 pm

When I type FS (short for Forest Service) MMS changes it to SF. I don't know why.

I have added FS to the User Dictionary but the switch to SF still occurs. I'd like to find where the auto correct list is to delete SF but I can't find it.

The only solution I've seen online to to turn off Auto Correct but I'd still like to to correct all the tehs and such. Seems extreme for one error intials SF :(

Is there a way to edit the auto correct list that I've overlooked?

Thank you for any help.

cmw7,

MOVIE MAGIC SCREENWRITER 6

Windows

  1. Click on Tools > Edit User Dictionary.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Open the language file you are using, most likely User_us.lxa.
  4. Add the word FS to the dictionary by itself as opposed to FS:FS.
  5. Click Exit.

Macintosh

This doesn't appear to be an issue on Macintosh.

MOVIE MAGIC SCREENWRITER 4 (2000)

Windows

  1. Click on Spell > Edit User Dictionary.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Open the language file you are using, most likely User_us.lxa.
  4. Add the word FS to the dictionary by itself as opposed to FS:FS.
  5. Click Exit.

Macintosh

This doesn't appear to be an issue on Macintosh.

Thank you for your answer.

I'm on a MAC -- Tools -- Edit User Dictionary -- choose USERDICT.LXA -- make changes and nothing happens. Still auto corrects to incorrect. I can't find where I could edit the file outside of MMS.

I suppose I've developed a glitch. MMS has been on my machine for a REALLY LONG time.

It's a very annoying glitch.

This is a known issue that prevents the dictionary from being edited while a file is open. Try closing all documents, then going to Tools > Edit User Dictionary and adding the word.

We have an update in the works that is almost ready for beta testing. This issue will be completely gone when that is issued.
