Courier MM Screenwriter on a title page?

Postby TheCardboardMonster » Feb 07, 2010 8:24 am

Hi all

Is there any particular reason why I can't use Courier MM Screenwriter on a title page? Whenever I do and close the Title Page Publisher it automatically changes whatever I've written to Geneva (the default font). Is this a bug or am I missing something? It's a problem I've had since buying Screenwriter 6 shortly after it came out.

Regards,

Hello Chris

Thanks for the response. While we're on the subject, another thing I would point out is that the Title Page Publisher does not take into account the paper size selected for a document. It always centres text for the US Letter page. On scripts typed on A4-sized paper for example - a more common practice in the UK than the US, I think - this puts the title marginally off-centre.

This is only a nitpick, mind, and one that can be fixed with manual adjustment. The program has remarkably few bugs. I can't imagine there's a huge market for screenwriting software.

I also find that if I use a font that isn't Courier-related, no matter how much I center it properly, it gets out of alignment with any other centered text boxes when I save to PDF; I have to then play a guessing game, pushing it left or right in order to get it to properly center on the page.

Before anyone says anything, I LIKE using non-courier fonts for the Title, so please restrain yourself from replying with "Then just use a Courier font" -- MMS offers the option to use other fonts, I'd like the program to work around me, not the other way around. This is a bug that needs fixing.

Otherwise, I love the software, it just has issues here and there.

No, it has not, unfortunately. We are working on the long term solution for all the various bugs and annoyances that are part of a complete reworking of Screenwriter (it's gotten so complex internally that fixing one thing breaks three others). No, there is no E.T.A., but a team of our engineers are actively working on the new version.
