Re: Index Cards on Horizontal 'Timeline' as Outline Tool

Thanks, Thomas. I would have thought that most people would find this very useful, and have been surprised that there are only one or two programs out there which have this as a tool/function/capability. Take care, I'd rather see some kinda full outlining capability though.... Why not both things/f...

Re: MMS with Full 'Outline' Ability/Package

I could be wrong about that, as I have tried a few demos now, but I thought that Outline 4D had a kind of timeline (which, as you point out, is a main feature of the program), but that it was not graphically presented (or could not be graphically presented) in using index cards. Apologies if I have ...

Re: MMS with Full 'Outline' Ability/Package

Hi Thomas, Thanks for the reply. I found what you said to be very interesting. I think that I would actually have bought Outline 4D by now if I weren't looking for a program that also has to work with my (Mac based) writing partner. I like your idea of the capability of having Outline 4D export as n...

Index Cards on Horizontal 'Timeline' as Outline Tool

Hi, If I couldn't have a fully integrated outline 'package' in MMS7, then I think that the most important outline tool for me would be a function which would allow me to lay out index cards horizontally, thereby making a 'timeline'. There could be a horizontal Navidock-like panel that could be opene...

Re: MMS with Full 'Outline' Ability/Package

You know what I'd really like to see? I'd like to have the capability to 'structure' an outlining program as I want. What I mean by this is that I'd like to see an easy-to-use interface which gives me the choices about how the program appears (i.e., the physical display), and what tools I have avail...

Re: MMS with Full 'Outline' Ability/Package

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your reply, but that's not really what I was getting at, because, as I said, I am not interested in Outline 4D, or using it - or anything else really - as a separate program. I would rather see sophisticated outline abilities included as part of MMS, as I said in my post.

Re: Which Courier Font to Use?

Hi Thomas,
I will check out the font more closely.

I, too, am partial to the aesthetic effects of dots! I once was in a great dilemma about *exactly* where to position one of the dots on my business card. At the time I had it magnified by 4000% and still couldn't decide.

Thanks,

Re: Why Do Some Questions/Topics Go Unanswered?

Hi Thomas, Thanks for your response. I agree with you in so far as one could stack the odds in favour of getting a response; that's why I made the suggestion about having a system where we, the readers/posters, could take some responsibility for this. My main point is the inconsistency with getting ...

Why Do Some Questions/Topics Go Unanswered?

Hi Ken and Chris, I appreciate that you are both trying to manage answering the questions in these forums by yourselves - at least it appears that way (I really do appreciate that, both in the sense of being thankful for your help and contributions, and also in the sense of understanding that you ar...

Which Courier Font to Use?

Hi,
Is there an agreed upon version of Courier to use for screenplays? If so, which one?

Thanks,

Windows Beta Version of Scrivener Available October 2010

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but since Scrivener is a writer's tool that can be used to help projects that would then be done in MMS, I'm posting here (also, I hope that this is allowed here - moderators, please remove this message if I am breaking any rules; no offence inte...

Re: looking for screenplays with...

Hi, Field mentions several screenplays as examples of what he is talking about. Would those not be suitable for you to seek out? I have just leafed through two (older) editions of two of Fields books and see references to 'Last Year at Marienbad', 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid', 'Body Heat', '...

Aesthetic Upgrade to Website and MMS?

One thing that is immediately apparent to me every time I come to the website, and also when I open MMS itself, is the 'square' look of the graphical presentation. What I mean by 'square' is a dated look that hearkens back to the early days of Windows when the OS was basically a graphical framework ...

Make 'Forums' More Obvious On Home Page

Hi, I would like to see the Forums displayed (with a link) on Screenplay.com's homepage. I'm suggesting this because I had a difficult time finding it, and I only thought to look for it because I have used a lot of other forums on the net (mostly related to music). A 'Forums' or 'Discussion Forums' ...

Re: Will Download File Burn to Disc and Install/Uninstall?

Hi Chris, Thanks for this. I had a problem with an install today, which I'm hoping you could make some suggestions about. I successfully installed MMS 2000 on my work computer (brand new - was set up a few days ago; used Win XP Prof.). I then realized that I should have not installed from the disc, ...

I appreciate your conscientiousness in testing this.

Thanks, once again.

Re: Edit Script Formatting Questions

Hi KenTech, I have actually now set up a template for the 'BBC Taped Sitcom Format' in MMS 2000. The only aspects of the format that I haven't been able to duplicate/emulate are the ones mentioned in my initial message (i.e., including a colon automatically after the character name; preventing the b...

Re: Working with iPartner Using 2 Different Screenplay Versi

Hi KenTech, Thanks for the reply; a little unclear though - it sounds like you're talking about my collaborator and I working on the same script, i.e., having the same script open in two different windows (his and mine). Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your reply, but I'm paying attention to the word ...
