Re: MovieMagic Screenplay - What is happening with it?
Thanks. We are taking our time and it is coming along nicely...just slowly. Screenwriter has so many features in it that its taking us a while to catch up to it while making design and functionality enhancements along the way.

Re: When does one use page 390 as opposed to pg 391?
Hey Adam -- The structure model is A way to see the PIECES and RELATIONSHIPS of the items in the structure, but is not an adequate tool to use for creating or analyzing narratives. It shows the model at rest. A storyform represents a "twisted" version of the model. Also, it is best NOT to ...

Re: When does one use page 390 as opposed to pg 391?
RE: E I do not really understand your questions. The 'genre' aspect of the chart is all on one level, so there is no need to look at a 3D version of it. The labels on 387 are there to give a sense what each horizontal level 'feels' like. They are indicators, not definitions. I've attached a version ...

Re:
It's easy for me to see how page 390 is situated below page 389. However, it'd make it easier if it was not written as: 1. 'Situation Elements' but instead as '16 Situations Elements'. Then... 2. Change 'Activity Elements' to '16 Activity Elements'. 3. Change 'Manipulation Elements' to '16 Manipula...

Re: When does one use page 390 as opposed to pg 391?
If you look at the 3D representation of the domain chart you will see that the Classes, Types, Variations, and Elements are stacked vertically such that the classes are at the top and the elements at the bottom. These charts of structural items is like looking at parts of the periodic table of chemi...

Re: Errors/typos in the Dramatica Theory book?
I'll have to check the book -- I don't have one handy. I will note that the elements are in different arrangements in each class/domain, so how they are laid out DOES depend on the domain in which they exist.

Yes. You can drag the scenes around to reorder them while in the scene list view.

Re: If comic books have variant covers, why not a film itsel
It happens a lot in the literary world. Look to the panoply of Star Wars and Star Trek spinoffs.
The Film equivalent of the comic book cover variants are the movie posters.

Re: DreamKit4.0/Stuck/Scenes/ Adv. Beginner problem
If you started the program using a template (which is my guess), the template already has the generic scenes as part of it. That's kind of what makes a template different from a new file. I recommend looking through the scenes and delete what you don't want. Rearrange the rest into the order you wis...

Re: The Bump-Slide Patterns
The bump-slide-bump and other patterns are there to let you understand the effect of the story patterns found within storyforms. The section in the theory book is informational rather than instructional. You can look to the Theme Browser to get a sense of the patterns but the software does not indic...

They allow you to 'lock' your choices so that those choices will remain if you CLEAR the storyform.

That's a chicken / egg question. They are concurrent. How you come to choose them is up to you but does not effect their relationship.

The underlining is meant to communicate that this is where you are in the process.
Everything after that is yet to come in the process -- you have not gotten there yet.

Re: Main Character is the Contagonist
1. The functions of the protagonist should be filled by one or more players. Each function is an approach to resolving the OS problem, which is shown to be appropriate on inappropriate within the context of the story. 2. It depends on what you mean by defining the story goal "first." If yo...

We're working on a complete overhaul of MMSW. It's taking time but we're making good progress on it. No E.T.A. yet.

Re: Main Character is the Contagonist
1. Yes 2. Maybe. The protagonist is the main proponent of reaching the goal through "consider" (e.g. "keep your eyes on the prize") and pursue (e.g. "let's go after it"). I'm not sure what you mean by putting your Contagonist/MC "in the spotlight." As MC, the ...
