Re: Creating a Dramatica-Based Screenwriter Template
Stephenbuck415, Please check this dramatica article How & Why Dramatica Is Different From Other Story Paradigms by Chris Huntley http://www.dramatica.com/theory/articles/index.htm It is excellent and included is a comparison of "outline" differences and similarities to other story para...

Screenplay template
Is there a reason the Screenplay template automatically makes the guardian as the impact character? Is it just random? I noticed the Short story template automatically makes the Antagonist the IMPACT CHARACTER and the Novel template makes the EMOTION archetype the impact character.

Re: statistics and targets
Then get your word processing program. I recommend Movie Magic Screenwriter. You would do yourself a favor to save up for Dramatica afterward. You won't find a better way to outline and lay over your other outlines (hero's journey outline for example) Dramatica is a unique, totally new the...

Re: Dramatica and Playwriting
I cannot edit my comment above but found out that I mis-remembered (remembered wrong) (screwed up) To clarify, no one ever said that plays focused on the overall or objective story. Somehow I ... oh, whatever what I actually heard was on a podcast analysis of Ground Hog Day where Sandy Stone said mo...

Re: Dramatica in Theatre & Small Cast pieces.
Okay, sorry, I had to go back to see as to what I was referring. I cannot remember what I thought I read from you Chris but on the Ground Hog Day movie dramatica discussion podcast what I remembered above (wrong) was actually Sandy (Stone) saying that most plays deal in the internal realm. and movie...

Re: Dramatica in Theatre & Small Cast pieces.
I replied to your last post regarding Dramatica and Playwriting. I don't know if you saw that, but my intuition tells me that a short "story" like you are talking about may be a "tale" Look up on what the theory book says about tales as apposed to a "Grand Argument Story&quo...

Re: Character Element Confusion
It would be really cool if they had a report that ran character elements and how they fit into the throughlines. That one came easy because you set it up well. Let's see if I can do it again with another character.... (moments later) Well they do have reports. one is called "All Characters"...

if you are telling a story, it will work.
I am not a published writer so consider the source. but I know that Chris and Sandy have said that usually in plays the throughline with the main focus is the overall through line (or the Objective through line) as opposed to movies which usually focus on the main character through line. I ha...

Teresa, What might be very useful to you if you don't already have it is the free software Dramatica Pro Story Wizard 2.0 Found at (http://support.screenplay.com/downloads/DramaticaPro/dpro40.php) When you use it to open Dramatica Pro you are given a choice to open up Examples, an Existing Story, or...

Re: 1 storyform, but still given options
Those are two separate story forms. Right? One story form, although identical in every other way, has a judgement of good and the other bad. I have one that I want to tell a story within a story. So, what seemed like a revolution to me, I realized that of course the overall story is the same (they a...

Re: MC as Antagonist - any examples please?
Is the Grinch a good example of the the Antagonist as MC? The overall story is about celebrating Christmas where the Whos down in Whoville are the protagonist keeping that Overall Story moving forward. Re: Antagonist as Guardian
I remember Chris saying something about not confusing Story forming with Story weaving. I guess the Antagonist would be playing a role. In other words, do the story forming according to what is really happening and the subterfuge will be in the story weaving. I think, also, mixing and matching the c...

Re: Sequences
I read on another post from Chris Huntley that Dramatica has different templates and the book template has 60 chapters instead of 28 when you get to the story (forming?) at the end of part 3 of the story guide.  Which still leads me to ask, am I far off on my 28 sequences suggestion ...
