Re: Main vs Impact Throughline
Hi Ruse. I'm still relatively new to Dramatica Theory and I'd like to share my understanding of it so far... I stand to be corrected by more experienced users (like Chris, the co-creator, and Graham and the others). I'm new to the whole Dramatica program and there's been a bit of a snag in understan...

StoryGuide Levels 1 & 2 vs. 3
I would like to verify that the MC Character Judgment: Good or Bad is the same question between the three StoryGuide levels, and the only actual difference being in the presentation windows as attached.
Please confirm or correct me.
Thanks

Obstacle Character vs. Impact Character (terms)
Original Dramatica terms uses Obstacle Character, while Layman's Terms uses Impact Character. The Dramatica Dictionary refers Obstacle Character to Impact Character, and Impact Character carries the definition. What were the reasons that caused Obstacle to be chosen? Is the term Obstacle more accura...

Mental Relativity
The Mental Relativity pdf I downloaded from somewhere is 40 pages long, and ends stating it will discuss psychology next (pg. 38).
Is there a complete version of the text available?

Main and Obstacle / Impact Characters as Default
Background: My question is not "how-to" but "why is it that way" so that I can discuss the concepts of Dramatica Theory with others. The Question: When using the StoryGuide or Dramatica Query System, there are two characters that are built-in to the system: The Main Character and...

Re: StoryGuide Help in Italics
Okay, thanks.
At this time I'm aware of two methods of corrective action:
1. Clear the storyform and start over.
2. Complete the storyform, save the file, close the file, and re-open the file.
Are there other ways to clear the all italics text?
Thanks

StoryGuide Help in Italics
It seems that every so often I develop a storyform and as I work through it, help explanations turn into an italics styled font.
What causes this to happen, and how do I disable the italics function or restore the window to its regular font?
Thanks

Re: Main vs. Impact Characters
I wish I had more time to reply, but briefly, try thinking of the Main Character not as a person (or thing), but a perspective from which the audience views the story.

Re: Archetypes - software question
Oh, apologies. I'm illustrating using the default screenplay template. If you use that template, the sequence I provided is how they will appear... however, those positions can be customized. You're not doing anything wrong, it's just part of the learning experience. The focus of my replies involved...

Yes, it's normal, and if you are a little overwhelmed, welcome to the Dramatica community! LOL. In addition to those resources, there's more than a few of us having Dramatica discussions in the Google+ streams. Just search for #dramatica or #dramaticatheory and you'll find a group of us to chat with...

Re: Outline 4D 3.0+ Feature Requests
I would like to see an active spellcheck, one that underlines a misspelled word with the red squiggly line when I type it. I know there is a Spell Check, but it would be nice if an active one was available.

Re: Acts, signposts & scene order
That's odd, since in one of the links you handed it is implied that you can change the order of acts per throughline according to a quad pattern: http://www.dramatica.com/theory/addl_materials/dact_structures/index.html I'm afraid that's one for Chris or Melanie to address. But does that grouping m...

Re: Archetypes - software question
HI kfitzgerald60. Started using Dramatica to help with an existing story/screenplay. Created characters and assigned some archetypes, but not Protagonist or Impact character (guardian). Left these fields blank. Assigned main character/protagonist and guardian/impact character in later fields, but th...

Re: Acts, signposts & scene order
Melanie is in the process of releasing her entire Dramatica Unplugged course onto YouTube. The 28 Magic Scenes link posted above is in four parts -- right now only part 1 is available, but in the near future the remainder will become available. I believe that Melanie best answers your question in th...

When in Timeline View, double-click the bottom edge of a row to automatically snap it's height to the last line in the field.

Re: Acts, signposts & scene order
Oh, I see. Thanks for the clarification. Based on my understanding of the KTAD model, I believe the answer to both of your questions is yes--but I am interested to read what Chris has to say. Meanwhile, I did a little searching and found these items that may help find an answer to your question (bef...
