Re: What could this be?? MMS won't open...
Yes. Screenwriter 2000 (version 4) requires a printer driver be listed in the Control Panel. It uses that to obtain the proper paper size to calculate the margins against. You do not need a physical printer hooked up. To me, it sounds like you have recently uninstalled a printer and somehow it disab...

Re: Capitals Tweak
Make sure that following options are both enabled under Tools > Options > Spelling:
As long as both of those are enabled, the program capitalizes the second word of a sentence when the first word is deleted.
- Spell Check as you type

Re: print quality on title page
If you are on Mac, try switching the font of the text boxes on the title page from Courier New to Courier and see if that helps.

Re: Problems with RTF import/export
Putting aside the title, note and shot elements, do action, character name/dialogue and scene heading elements get messed up upon re-importng?

Re: Problems with RTF import/export
Thanks Ken. Unchecking "most aggressive interpretation" gives slightly better results, but still a mess I'm afraid. Some elements won't export as styles at all (Shot, Title, Note), and the text associated with them gets assigned to other styles, apparently at random. Then there are furthe...

Re: Problems with RTF import/export
I am the tech that you emailed with. This morning, I've tried exporting to RTF, saving the RTF in Word and re-importing. The only element that I seem to have an issue with is the SHOT element. What happens if you uncheck "Use most aggressive interpretation..." on the import window?

Re: Difficulties from switching from Final Draft...
Check your paper size under File > Print Setup. Sounds like it might be set to "photo" or some other strange paper size.

First and foremost, thanks for getting back to me. Screenwriter is already set up to use TAB and RETURN as the primary keys. TAB will take you to a Character Name and RETURN will take you to Action (or Dialgue from a Character Name). Pressing SHIFT+9 will insert a Parenthetical which is used for di...

Unfortunately, Movie Magic Screenwriter does not have the ability to use Smart Quotes at this time, only standard quotation marks and commas.

Re: Problems importing scripts
Can you try uploading the RTF again? The board is set to accept that file type. How large of a file is it? What happens when you try to upload?
Also, have you tried importing a plain text file instead of RTF to see if it's any better?

Hi Brian, It was nice to meet you at the expo. Can you elaborate more on the non-functioning find/replace dialog? I don't remember talking to you about that. It might have been one of the other guys. To change the default title page, open the script that has the formatting settings and title page yo...

Feel free to upload it here. When you reply on this thread, scroll down to the bottom and there is an "Upload Attachment" tab where you can select the file you created. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear there is a way to keep the character extension from being bold. As far as the in-dialogu...

Re: Working with iPartner Using 2 Different Screenplay Versi
I just tested this with my co-worker. I sent him a script which put me in "view" mode (watching him). I could then minimize the iPartner window and switch to a different open script and edit it without affecting the one in iPartner.
I hope that answers your question.

Re: Working with iPartner Using 2 Different Screenplay Versi
Yes. They would need to own their own copy of the program, but via iPartner you can see what is occurring in real time and both sides can make edits to the script. Once you are done, when you disconnect, it will ask if you want to synchronize the file so you both have the same data. iPartner connect...

Re: Edit Script Formatting Questions
I'll have to see if I can get Screenwriter to duplicate that format. It may not be able to handle something like that.
Save As Default... takes the format of the currently open document and would use that format any time you went to File > New to create a new document.
