This is a question that encompasses more than just WM but also DMP4 and MMS2000: Why was this company was caught so off-guard by Apple's new OS? It's going to take you almost a year to respond to something you should have had some awareness when Apple was making a new OS and maybe some communication...

Re: Universities and College courses?

This would be absolutely wonderful. Sorry to say, but I learn much better taught in an academic setting. And I've taken courses on script analysis, basic dramatic theory, and acting. It's not like the theory is in Klingon or nothing in there is understandable...it's just a codification of story unli...

Re: statistics and targets

DramPro4 is storyform/coding/theory software from the looks of it. As such I don't think anyone will mind me listing a few programs that match what the OP is discussing. NOTE: These are for OSX - Storyist - Scrivener (they're making a version for windows) - Storymill Those were just three that came ...

Re: Dramatica in Theatre & Small Cast pieces.

You did, and I thank you for that. I think the Dramatica + Playwriting was more a general discussion. Most of the Dramatica users are the novelist and screenwriter variety. While I'm sure that much of the same needs are exihibited in novels and films as plays, we ARE talking about three forms of sto...

Helpful suggestion

Could one of the admins rename this board: "Outline 4D (Formerly known as Storyview)"?

And is there any talk about making O4D for Mac? One of the reasons I haven't leaned towards trying it out is that I write primarily on a mac.

Do we have confirmation that the people who make these series use said software?

Dramatica in Theatre & Small Cast pieces.

So I'm into about page 60 or so of my Dramatica Theory book. I really wish they taught Brick and Mortar classes on this stuff, with grades, papers and such. Some of this stuff is a bit intuitive but quite a bit of it gets into things that really stretch the brain. Maybe it's because it's explicitly ...

An example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Funny_Thing_Happened_On_The_Way_To_The_Forum During the out of town pre-Broadway tryouts the show was attracting little business and not playing well. Jerome Robbins was called in by director George Abbott and producer Hal Prince to give advice and make chan...

Dramatica and Playwriting

Hi, apologies if this is not quite where this question goes but this is a question about Dramatica (while not exactly being one about theory). Are there any playwrights who use Dramatica that this forum is aware of, and who can talk about how their Dramatica-using process fits into a stageworthy pre...

Re: Difficulties from switching from Final Draft...

So far I think you hit the nail on the head as far as remembering L&R of MMS vs. simply going by the left margin of FD. Update: So a few days ago, I imported a 21 page stageplay into MMS, using the DG Mod Stageplay with margins native to MMS standard. Then after your post, I input the values to ...

Re: Difficulties from switching from Final Draft...

We do have a similar feature whereby pressing SHIFT+TAB will alternate between the last two speaking characters. On Mac, you can set up individual key commands in Screenwriter > Preferences > Keyboard. You can also reference the key commands in the Help file under Appendices > Key Assignments > Sho...

I think you should definitely do that. When I signed up, I had to email an admin because it wasn't a smooth process for me. I'm not knocking you and whoever else runs the site. I'm just saying all the spammers really doesn't make the site look very good. Especially when it's more likely than not tha...

Yeah. I don't know if it's two guys, a theory expert and a technical guy, who run this forum all on their lonesome...but have you all thought about making it harder to sign up? There are a lot of spambots.

Re: Win/Mac Dramatica Pro

It's quite possible that there may be an answer in there that I'm simply not understanding. But that thread tells me why Screenplay.com/Write Bros. are slow to update their high-end software. It doesn't tell me why they're basically price-gouging by not offering the sale for a dual-platform download...

Re: Difficulties from switching from Final Draft...

First and foremost, thanks for getting back to me. Screenwriter is already set up to use TAB and RETURN as the primary keys. TAB will take you to a Character Name and RETURN will take you to Action (or Dialgue from a Character Name). Pressing SHIFT+9 will insert a Parenthetical which is used for dir...

Difficulties from switching from Final Draft...

Greetings everyone. I started using Final Draft in December '02/January 2003. I've updated from V6-V8 and overall, I'm quite happy with it. However, I do like to think of myself as open minded and I do like to try out different products on the market. I also enjoy having several products at my dispa...
