Tips on Signposts
I always seem to get stuck when I start to look at the Signposts for the Impact Character. Let's take a random "Type" -- PLAYING A ROLE. Does this mean that the IC is directly involved in "Playing A Role" or that their impact forces the MC to consider "Playing a Role"? ...

"Ruthless People" (1986)
I just watched "Ruthless People" (1986) on YouTube. Certainly one of my favorite comedies of all time. But for some inexplicable reason, I'm baffled in my attempts to analyze it in terms of Dramatica. It seems like it should be easier than most, since the plot is pretty simple at its core....

Armando's Book
I see that Amazon offers an ebook version -- but it's specific to Kindle.
Is there a general electronic version available? (I was dragged kicking and screaming into the .pdf world, but now that I'm there, I much prefer e-books over tree-books.)

"The Catbird Seat" (James Thurber)
Found the short story analysis of Thurber's "The Catbird Seat" (by Katharine Monahan Huntley) on the Dramatica website very enjoyable. The discussion's almost longer than the story! Fascinating to see the theory tackling something that brief and a nice object lesson for fans of that format.

Re: MC GROWTH: Bogged Down in Language
It is just as valid. But not in the same storyform. For any one storyform, Dramatica recommends focusing on either STOP or START, but not both. ... But my point is that (at least in my example and many others I can imagine) they are logically equivalent , so it's arbitrary to call one START and the...

MC GROWTH: Bogged Down in Language
Chris (et al.) ... I'm perfectly comfortable with the concept of GROWTH. I understand the idea behind the four variants (when coupled with RESOLVE); change-start, change-stop, steadfast-start, steadfast-stop. ... but I'm not always comfortable with the encoding aspect. It often seems that I can forc...

Thanks in advance for your help. Adite Well ... It doesn't need to. You're not exporting data from AID into Dramatica, you're...
