Exporting

If I want to export to rtf or txt, it automatically exports everything, even compressed elements I have no intention of exporting. There is no dialogue box like there is for pdf exporting. Also, I'd like to be able to export to Microsoft word directly. Believe me, I hate it as much as you folks. But...

Expo and things

It was great to meet you guys at the expo! I picked up streamline and I'm looking forward to using it on a script where I haven't already done a line by line check for places to save pages. Even on "polished scripts" its saved me a lot of space, but I think it will really shine on rougher ...

Re: HELP WITH TIMELINE

Of course, there are huge gaps in There Will Be Blood. What I really liked about that movie was it leapt forward and just assumed the audience would follow along. I can't remember any stupid lines like "It's been 12 years since I saw you, Bob." I wish more movies would make those types of ...

Storyboarding

Does anyone use storyboarding software? If so, what do you use and do you like it? Looking for recommendations. Thanks!

Re: How many characters should my screenplay have?

Even for established materials (i.e. published books being converted to the screen) different characters are often consolidated into one for both budget and streamlining reasons. I know on my last script I took several characters and made them into one that did what I needed done and provided the im...

Re: Find/replace window

Chris, thanks for the response to my wishlist suggestions. The request for acknowledgment was supposed to be funny and I hope you took it that way. Reading it later it sounded pretty snarky. Sorry if I offended. :-) I also wanted to add that it would be great if the find/replace feature would start ...

Find/replace window

In most applications, when you choose "find" you can select "find next" from the various options. Screenwriter's "find" feature only finds one instance of the occurring word/phrase and closes the find window. This is a problem if I'm searching for something that occurs ...

Re: Constantly Changing Scenes!

I do not write in a linear fashion. I start by writing an outline of my idea, and if I find myself to write a scene, I stop and write that. I don't worry about whether it belongs in the final script, if it belongs where I'm currently at, or anything other than getting it on the page. When my inspira...

Re: Permissions and links

I've had a few casual websites with forums in the past and one workaround that would be a temporary solution is give someone you trust power to ban posters and remove posts. I'm not sure how widespread the community is here, but the more people you trust who can help prune the spam, the better. You ...

Autocorrect issues/ideas

When I ask something to auto-correct, it doesn't maintain the capitalization that the misspelled word has. For instance: Humilaty is wasted on you. Choose the correct word from the right-click menu and it becomes: humility is wasted on you. Which means I have to go back and correct the capitalizatio...

Re: Drag-able elements in document window

Also, would love to have the Navidoc to be a dockable, separate window. I'm working on a dual monitor system (for some video editing) and being able to drag the navidoc onto the other monitor and leave the document window in place would be roxxor.

Drag-able elements in document window

Wishlist - drag and drop elements (acts, scenes, beats, sequences, notes, etc.) within the document window. You can do it in the Navidoc, I want to be able to do it in either window. I think it would work best if you could grab the arrow on the left side of the document window (the collapse/uncollap...

If there is a forum moderator floating around, you may want to ban wlwl13115 and remove all his posts. Clearly a bot/spammer.

Re: A how to question about script notes

I have a rather extensive network of writing partners both in-house and as far as away as across the country. Only some of them have access to screenwriter, so the best way to share new drafts/material/scenes is pdf through email. In a few (thankfully rare) cases, I have to print out hard copies and...
