Re: Michael Clayton

Actually, it's a good thing to discuss about the creative decisions film producers make that differ from the book versions.

Re: Michael Clayton

Well, most of the good book titles already have movie version of them. Jack Nicholson's portrayal in One flew over the cuckoo's nest immediately comes to mind. I've also seen a film version of Lord of the Flies, so we could still discuss this story over the next DUG perhaps?

Re: Celebrities who are dramatica users

I think it could be Francis, except his english accent is not that thick. I don't think he's a londoner, that's for certain.

Re: Storyforms of your favourite tv shows

I'm a huge fan of Jennifer Love Hewitt, and by extension, her Ghost Whisperer show. i note there was potent online outrage when they killed off (somewhat) the character, Jim, who was Jennifer's on-screen husband in season 4. Things just got confusing and hokey (what? he's dead but possessing another...

Re: Permissions and links

hi Chris, i was just thinking; if the Dramatica peeps could enjoy some support from the WGA ( in terms of manpower or funding... somehow?), the SPAM problem might be more adequately addressed. i mean, this forum is catered to a niche group of users - US! This is our playground. Not some place for pe...

Re: Terminator Salvation, by McGee

wow. as much as i am into the Terminator franchise (and i appreciate the effort of the writer to actually take the time to register his nick as Cyberdine)!

I just have to ask : is this considered spam, or someone just being helpful?

Re: Michael Clayton

PPS Afterthought : - are video games & comics, viable alternatives to tradtional writing platforms? - are these alternative media a reliable source of employment? and at what level of employment? (full time/part time/contract/guest writer?) i think the Dramatica forum would benefit greatly if th...

Michael Clayton

hi all, one of the most haunting i (humbly) soundbites took away from the previous DUG podcast (aside from that "I am Shiva" monologue they discussed for a bit - that was cool !) was the comment Chris mentioned; A guy was asking about impact character handoffs, and Chris said it's more of ...

Re: Celebrities who are dramatica users

hi Chris,

it would be pretty cool if THE Rob Thomas would please stand up? (hey, remember that Eminem song?)

...in other news, hey i noticed there's a new guy in the DUG group lately. Is he a professional tv/film writer of some sort?

Celebrities who are dramatica users

hi all, I'm a big fan of the show, Veronica Mars, and by extension, a fan of it's writer/producer Rob Thomas (NOT the singer). I note that each episode (i reckon) fulfills the 96 beat per story rule, and 2-3 beats per sequence; and each sequence lasting 2.5 mins tops - thus fulfilling the 42min per ...

Re: Story Goal

In introspection, I guess my analysis of the movie is very much coloured by what I know of the Catholic history of the Saint, Joan of Arc. Talking about two incomplete halves of 2 stories, would it be correct to call it a bump - where the first story ends and the second story continues? That's the f...

Re: The new Star Trek movie

OMG! I absolutely LOVE that show!

Dead like me has that wry, black humour that actually works as a comedy, which (unfortunately) doesn't work (for me) in shows like 30 Rock, The office, Kit & Kat and all those really unfunny shows, IMHO.

Spam

hi all,

there's nothing more irritating (& disrepectful) than people joining the forum and interrupting the discusssing threads in order to push their own agenda (i.e. selling stuff no one is really interested anyway).

Is there anything the moderators could do about it? :?:
